Casini Ranch sits along a mile and a half of Russian River beach in the heart of Sonoma County — 110 acres that have been a family-run campground since 1965. Whether you’re bringing the rig, a tent, or renting one of the on-site cabins, there’s a spot to settle in.
The Casini family general store, laundry, and hot showers keep things easy on-site, and we’ll have the chapter tent set up for group gatherings if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Campers can try their hand at fishing, boat and kayak rentals, hayrides, and bonfires right on the property.
Step outside the ranch and you’re minutes from the village of Duncans Mills — galleries, a wine tasting room, and a couple of well-loved restaurants. Redwoods, wine country, and the Sonoma Coast are all a short drive away.

BOOKING INFORMATION
This is an unusual case where we’re asking members to book directly with the park starting a year in advance. We recommend booking ASAP since this park fills up many months before we intend to go, in August of 2027.
Casini Ranch is a pretty expensive park these days, but it remains perfectly located and often requested by members. Here are some booking guidelines:
=> We will be centering our activities around sites 94-97, where we will be placing the chapter’s white tent. You can choose a site nearby or in any corner of the park you choose. Walk on over (or bike, or drive) to hang out in the tent.
=> While the sites are expensive, if you are over 65 when you check in you will receive a 20% refund.
=> Most importantly, when booking this early we all worry that something unexpected will come up and keep us from being able to use this reservation. Fortunately, the cancellation fee is only $28 if you cancel 8 or more days before your reservation starts. That’s as good as it get’s for park cancellations and makes it easier to commit this many months in advance.
=> Once you have booked with the park, please complete the FreeWheelers Registration form below to pay your $2 hosting fee and notify the hosts where you will be staying.
Registration Opening Date: August 22, 2026
Payment Method: Book site with park and pay park directly. They charge $30 to lock your site number.

Sites: Your choice. We will be setting up the white chapter tent between sites 94-97, but you can choose from a variety of locations and price points within the park.

Day Use Price: If you plan to stay elsewhere and book as a Day Use attendee on the FreeWheelers reservation form, please not that all visitor vehicles must be in overflow parking and the park may collect a $7 charge per person for day use visitors. Pet fees apply.
Discount: When you check in, if you are over 65 they will refund 20% of your total bill.

- General Store: Well stocked with food, beverages, camping gear, and more. You can also borrow sports equipment from store.
- Rental Shop: Various watercraft, pedal cart, and golf cart rentals are available for you to enjoy in the park, or on the mile long beach

Health Policy: We request that any members feeling ill or showing signs of illness please consider staying home, or remain masked at all indoor functions.
Casini Ranch Generator Policy: Quiet generators only. Generator hours are 8:00AM – 10:00AM / 12:00PM – 1:00PM / 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Please be considerate of your neighbors.
FREEWHEELERS CANCELLATION POLICY: The hosting fee of $2 per person is non-refundable.
CASINI RANCH CANCELLATION POLICY: 8 days or more in advance (your arrival day does not count) of arrival are subject to a $28.50 early cancellation fee; cancellation 7 days or less results in forfeiture of entire reservation amount + taxes and booking fee. There is a one time reschedule option ($15 + tax) in lieu of the $28.50 early cancellation fee. Must be done prior to nonrefundable cancellation date.

Parks & Sightseeing
- Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve: An 805-acre grove of old-growth coast redwoods with easy, self-guided trails, about 15 minutes away.
- Duncans Mills: This walkable 1870s railroad town has a historic depot museum, antique shops, and art galleries just outside the campground gate.
Bike Paths & Fire Roads
- West County Regional Trail: A flat, paved rail-trail that welcomes Class 1 e-bikes, linking Forestville, Graton, and Sebastopol, about 25 minutes away.
Bodies of Water
- Monte Rio Beach: A quieter public access point on the Russian River about 10 minutes upstream, popular for a swim or a paddle.
- Sonoma Coast State Park: Walk the bluffs where the Russian River meets the Pacific, with harbor seals often visible near the river mouth.
Food and Drink
- Cape Fear Café: A cozy Duncans Mills café serving California comfort food with a Southern twist — walkable from the campground.
- Blue Heron Restaurant & Tavern: The oldest tavern on the Russian River, known for live music and a redwood-shaded dining room.
- Sophie’s Cellars: A Duncans Mills wine bar pouring hard-to-find Sonoma wines paired with local artisan cheeses.
- Korbel Champagne Cellars: A historic champagne house dating to 1882, with free daily tours and tastings, about 20 minutes away.
Dog-Friendly Spots
- Cape Fear Café patio: Well-behaved pups are welcome on the outdoor patio while you eat.
- Blind Beach: A leashed-dog-friendly beach near Goat Rock with dramatic bluff views.
- Wright’s Beach: The largest sandy stretch in Sonoma Coast State Park, with leashed dogs welcome on the beach and at the campground.
