Nestled among oak trees along Dairy Creek, El Chorro Regional Park and Campground offers a serene setting with over 50 campsites ranging from primitive to full hook up.
El Chorro Regional Park and Campground is located between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. and will serve as our basecamp for exploring the Carrizo Plain.
Recreational opportunities abound, including the SLO Botanical Gardens, Dairy Creek Golf Course, the El Chorro Dog Park, and numerous picnic areas and trails. With stunning views and a variety of activities, this campground is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Spring birding will also be in full swing!
April is high-season for wildflower viewing on the Carrizo Plain which is about 75 minutes away from this campground. Our intention is to use our campsites here as a staging ground for exploring the Carrizo Plain.
Add october 20th to your calendar to book a site!
We are hoping for a superbloom event, but even without that spectacle, the area is geologically beautiful. We also have the San Luis Obispo/Morro Bay coastal area to explore if the wildflowers don’t cooperate this year.
